How cute are these bracelets by Mathias Chaize.

Turquoise - Oh So Pretty and Exotic

Turquoise is such a pretty colour, I always feel that it adds a bit of mysteriousness and a feeling of the exotic. The colour is so vibrant and fun that it can be worn to lift an outfit and your mood.

Dubai has lots of turquoise jewellery but most of the Turquoise bits I have are from other Countries, here is my little collection......

I got these earrings in New York but think they are very Arabic in style.

How pretty is this design?! I love the use of pearls and turquoise together.

I love how my turquoise earrings lift this dress and add a little something something to it.

The ring in the middle is from India, a shop in Connaught Place. Shopping in India is so much fun!

Kourtney's Necklace

Love Kourtney Kardashian's necklace.

Dubai Markets - Jewellery

I currently live in Dubai. Dubai is a city which is vibrant and evolving, it is an exciting place to be.

The fashion in Dubai is very prominent and has influences from all over the world. I love the Dubai fashion, as it is chic, bright and fun. As Dubai grows and its occupants demand more, markets are popping up all over the place. On my way to Pilates last night, I walked past a little market stall selling jewellery, which was very Turkish. I love stopping to look at the designs made up of mainly turquoise, gold and red silk, see below.

These little bracelets are so Dubai, most girls have one, or two or more. They make great Presents!

Love these rings, unfortunately it was dark and my camera wasn't fabulous but you can still see the beautiful designs and array of colours, something for everyone!

I plan on bringing you more from the Dubai markets and fashion scene soon!

Coral, Shell and Pearls

To me pearls are so special. Like all gemstones, the fact that they occur naturally amazes me and it is this that makes me love them.

Women of all cultures and ages can wear pearls and make them their own. I especially love pink pearls but having said that, I am now fighting with myself over whether actually I prefer black pearls - too hard to decide. The fact is they are so pretty and special.

I love that they can be warn with a two piece, jeans and a t-shirt or a wedding dress. There is something so innocent and feminine about them.

My first piece of jewellery I ever received (apart from my christening bracelet) was a very much loved pearl and coral necklace and bracelet set from my parents. I still wear it now. Since receiving that lovely gift my collection of pearls has grown somewhat.

Another reason I love pearls is to do with my love of the beach and the sea, which leads on to my love of shell and coral. Shell offers a fabulously pretty piece of jewellery, whereas the colour of coral is just so wonderful - my favorite colour in fact, well almost.

Here are some of my collection

My collection of pearls, shell and coral range from the Philippines, Brazil, Australia, India and the UK.

I love these big shell earrings I got in Brazil, they are so funky but also so pretty.

This head-piece I got from an antique shop in the UK and wore it to a wedding, it isn't real coral but just imagine if it was! It's still very pretty though and so different.

Lady of the moment - Monica Vinader

My little and very chic sister, Olivia, first introduced me to Monica Vinader. She is a jewellery designer based in the UK and has taken London and the UK by storm. I love her simple but effective pieces, which could be worn on all occasions. They would also make very lovely presents. Olivia had actually wanted one of her pendants for her birthday... not sure whether she got it in the end. Here are a few of my favorites....

This little bracelet, I can imagine wearing every day and never taking it off, sort of like a love or friendship bracelet that would add a touch of spirit to your outfit.
Love the intricate and pretty design of this pendant, so lovely.

These beautiful green onyx earrings would stand out and make an outfit - they are sublime!

The best thing about Monica Vinader's designs are that you can mix and match and personalise them. You can have them engraved or mix with each other..... I may join Olivia in wanting some of Ms. Vinader's pieces.

Check out more of her designs on her website http://www.monicavinader.com/

Kate Moss - Always the style Queen.

I love the necklace Kate Moss chose to wear at her book launch in London the other night. Big gem stones linked together with gold, so effective and so pretty.

Hiba's Holy Wrists

When I first met the very beautiful Hiba, the first thing I noticed was her jewellery, she had a wrist of little silk woven bracelets with varying designs of crosses on them, very chic and very simple but oh so effective. Hiba declared her wrists, holy wrists. A year on and she still has a few... love these!

Travel and Jewellery - My Bliss

I love to travel, I mean LOVE it and I love Jewellery very much. One of my favorite things to do, (you could call it a hobby), is to shop around local areas and markets etc looking for special one off pieces that only I am lucky enough to own. Nepal and India have my favorite designs, with India coming out on top.

Here I am in a workshop in Nepal - so interesting to see how they make their intricate jewellery and measure out the gems etc.

Love, love, love!

Below is a market in Kathmandu, which sold all sorts but look at the trays of amazing one off little pieces.

Below is Chandi Chowk in Delhi. I loved this place and its crazy streets. This row of beautifully designed houses you could go in and buy all sorts of gemstones, I was hooked! The houses are another great piece of Indian design.

Here I am in Chandi Chowk in one of the little silver shops, having a wonderful time... hmmmm, which one do I buy?

My inspiration!

Sydney, Australia is where the jigsaw started to fit together with me and my love of gems. Due to its close proximity to Asia, there are so many boutiques with amazing Asian inspired textiles, design and jewellery. I worked in Paddington, where it was all happening for young and upcoming designers. I was lucky enough to work in a beautiful boutique, which sold amazing gem stone jewellery by a gemologist and designer - Kerry. The label was Kerry Rocks.

Kerry's pieces are elegant, individual, affordable and timeless. I loved working with her pieces and selling them to people who had fallen in love with the gems and Kerry's designs.

I learnt a lot working with Kerry's jewellery and so began my further interest in the field of gemology. Thank you Kerry xx

Jade Jagger - I Love!

I am so in love with Jade Jagger's jewellery designs. I love her use of colour, detail and texture in her work. Indian design is my favorite jewellery design and it would seem that Jade gets a lot of her inspiration from India. I would love to own some of her pieces one day....

these are some of my favorite pieces of hers:

Handan's amazing and exciting jewellery box....

These BEAUTIFUL and unique rings are from Nepal and belong to the very lovely Handan. When I decided to do this blog, I asked her to photograph some of jewellery, little did I know she had a treasure chest of gorgeous pieces!

I love the design of these three pieces going together, the colours and the designs are so delectable!

I was obsessed x

I'm not usually a pinky ring finger wearer the I could be persuaded for this little delight!

And here it is, Handan's jewellery box, well one of them anyway.

look at all those goodies in there, how fabulous!

My love of Gems - Where it all began.

I have always been in love with jewellery. I remember, as a child, going through all my Mum's beautiful jewellery that she has collected from around the world. My favorite scene in my favorite film, Gigi, is when she is having lessons from her Aunt on jewellery and gemstones. This was the first time I learned about the Marquise cut Diamond.

I have always loved traveling and finding the markets and the jewellery that is sold at them. But my real realisation came when I lived in Australia and worked with gemstone jewellery in a boutique, this is where I really gained my love of gems and gemstone jewellery! My time in India, around the beautiful Indian designs and gems, sold in high end shops and in little markets and on the side of the road, sealed the deal.
