The GCC based brand Gemme Couture is just fabulous and so me! I want some! They do what I love and make the most of a gemstones colour and match them with each other in such a way that their colour and beauty is enhanced! Go and have a look and see which gorgeous little pieces you love... http://www.gemmecouture.com/

These are the pieces that I especially love..

I love anklet's, much to my parents despair, but this one is just oh so pretty and different. My ankles would feel very special ; )

These Berry Earrings are so simple and so sweet, love!

The Butterfly Necklace, imagine how special you would feel wearing this.

Simple and very pretty, this Rainbow Rhodolite Garnet Bracelet.

Simply splendid Sapphire and Pearl Necklace

I think these may be my favorite, Silver Diamonds and Coral Earrings - wow oh wow!

Nada Le Cavelier

Please have a look at this wonderful Lebanese designers website Nada Le Cavelier, http://www.nadalecavelier.com/ I absolutely adore her designs, which she says are inspired by antiques and artefact's - beautiful, just beautiful!

I wish I could show you some pictures of her designs but her very crafty website doesn't allow it xx

3 Wishes Necklace

Kirsty has been such a good friend to me over the last few years and has been there at times when I have really needed someone to be there. I am very lucky with my friends! Recently, I have been staying with her and so when I saw this gorgeous little necklace, I knew I wanted to get it for her. It is called the 3 wishes necklace, you are supposed to make a wish on each pendant and then keep them close to your heart. I wonder what Kirsty's wishes will be?

I love this!

Star Ring

Recently I have told you all about The Mall of the Emirates' hidden gem - Boom and Mellow http://www.boomandmellow.com/boom-&-mellow-boutique.html. Well, I had also been telling my very good, very lovely friend, Kirsty about it too. We met up yesterday evening and after having a lot of fun in the new Victoria's Secrets, I had to take her, as I knew that she would love it! She did! One little gem caught her eye - the star ring, silver with tiny diamonds - it is so Kirsty, it suits her feminine, free spirited style! She also has tiny little star tattoos on her wrist, so the ring is perfect for her.

It is so tiny that you almost wouldn't notice that it was there but the diamonds in the star catch the light and sparkle, how pretty and lovely!

Cherine Kurdy

I always admire people who make the decision to design and make jewellery and then get out there and promote it. A friend told me about a lady in Dubai called Cherine Kurdy who designs and makes jewellery. you can follow her on Facebook if you like.

I had a look through her collections on Facebook and really liked these earrings below, how fabulous! I think these are the ultimate Dubai accessory!

Hiba's Earrings

I have already shown you Hiba's Holy Wrists and now here are a pair of her earrings, less holy but just as pretty.

Hiba bought these earrings in Lebanon from a Lebanese designer in ABC mall. Hiba says that every time she goes back to Lebanon she likes to buy a new piece of jewellery. These earrings I especially like as they are very pretty and understated but also very interesting and different. The pink stone is the cherry on the cake.

Chrysoprase

I was first introduced to the dreamy, green coloured gemstone chrysoprase when I lived in Australia, it mesmerised me. I was lucky enough to get a pair of chrysoprase earrings from Kerry Rocks, so not only did I get a beautiful gem, I also had them in a beautiful design.

It is very hard for me to decide what my favorite gemstone is, but chrysoprase is definitely a strong contender. The colour is just amazing and stands out so much.

I recently traveled to Vale in the USA and was very happy to find so many gemstone jewellery shops. For my birthday I was bought a chrysoprase necklace and bracelet. They are so pretty and always get lovely comments:

Below are my chrysoprase necklace, bracelet and earrings, the two rings are there just because they look pretty all together, don't you think?

the design of this necklace allows the chrysoprase beads to stand out on their own and make your decolletage look very special.

Marcela's Wedding Jewellery

Wow oh wow, look at these. Marcela showed me the gift her parents gave to her on her wedding day, a necklace and earring set.

An early 20th century set of fine jewelry in its original case, from Mexico. How beautiful and special, pearls and diamonds set in Silver. Apparently the building, pictured in the case, is still there.

This is exactly the sort of thing I would love to wear if I were ever to get married. Marcela was only 20 when she wore these, how amazing they must have looked on her. I am sure she will still be wearing them when she is 90.

I love the colour of the cushion the jewellery is set in.

Monica Vinader's Press Day Collection - Wonderful

Monica Vinader has just posted some pictures of her press day event, I thought I would share some of her pieces with you, as they are so lovely.

My Blue Button

I love this pendant, I found it at the Bondi Markets, while I was living in Sydney. It is a little button but someone saw its beauty and put it on a chain to sell as a necklace, I was the lucky girl that found it. I have put it on a gold chain and adore it, I feel it adds a bit of something something to an outfit.

My Blue Button

Dubai Market - Shell Bangles

I was wondering home the other evening, along the Dubai Marina, and enjoyed perusing all the stalls. Look what I found, so pretty:

The bangles are very delicate and carved out of shell. I have seen these before in India and fell in love.

Rebecca Forbes, soon to be Sowler and her beautiful Engagement Ring

Becky, as we all call her, is one of those girls who is a ray of light in your life, always bubbly and happy but very logical and real. She is one of those people who seems to have decided "I am going to be happy and enjoy life" and she just does.

Becky is super glam and certainly has her own style. Of course being so special it did not take long for a very charming young man to come along and pop the question. He did so with a ring that is so unique and so Becky. I love it very much!

It is coral and diamond, set in gold and is a family heirloom. Tom said that he knew when he saw it that it was for Becky.

So pretty, so Becky x

Marcela's Pieces

My beautiful and vivacious Mexican friend Marcela always has gorgeous jewellery on. She is one of those women who always looks fabulous and makes the effort to wear a different piece of jewellery every day.

Here she is in a beautiful pair of earrings by a Lebanese designer called Zoughaib. These earrings highlight the reason I love these precious little rocks - gemstones. They are small and yet dynamic. Their colour stands out and adds something so special to the person wearing them, I love them. These earrings and Marcela together are a perfect mixture of beauty.

Marcela being a Mexican is also very sentimental and comes from a country which is Catholic. Although Marcela changes her jewellery each day, she always wears her Guadalupana medal.
This medal is a traditional gift at christenings and first holy communion in Mexico and it portrays the Virgin of Guadalupe. Beautiful. You can also see here a bracelet with the "eye", a gift to her. I love the two cultural mixes here.

Hidden Treasure - Boom and Mellow Mall of the Emirates Dubai

Boom and Mellow was a very lovely find, it has lots of funky cool bags, and accessories as well as very pretty, elegant pieces - all a girl could want. I especially love their jewellery - oh so pretty. All Dubai girls should go and check this hidden treasure out. It is in Mall of the Emirates.

On the website they describe it as:
 " it’s like walking into a life-size
jewellery box"
and I couldn't have said it better myself. Enjoy xx

Jade Jagger's New Winter Looks

So, as I have said before, I am besotted with Jade Jagger's designs. She is heavily influenced by India it would seem and is capable of bringing out each gems true beauty with how she places them and works with them together, she really has a gift. I love her new looks:

Divine!

The colour of these rubies is just exquisite and the design is heavenly. Father Christmas, please drop one of these into my stocking, please.

I think the design of these rings has something innocent, as well as antique about them, one could imagine them having a wonderful story attached to them.

Need I say anything about these earrings? x

Pippa Small

I was out at brunch with some girls yesterday and one of the girls, a fashion PR girl from London, told me about Pippa Small and highly recommended her, so I thought I had better take a look.

This is Pippa's website, have a look at the bit about her, I love her story http://www.pippasmall.com/

And this is her online shop - love! http://www.pippasmallshop.com/?setshop=uk I love the butterflies and birds. So glad Billie told me about her, as it is always fun to find new designers.

These are a few of my favorite pieces of hers:

I have fallen madly in love with these rough ruby drop earrings!

And head over heels with these Chrysoprase earrings.

Fabulous Cuff Bangles

How fabulous are these cuff bangles! They are, I was told, from Afghanistan but they also look quite Indian to me. My friend had a very similar one on today with cut of jean shorts and a t-shirt, it really made the outfit. I should really purchase one for myself. I think I would like a gold one too.

Dubai Jewellery Show 2012

I recently did a diamond grading course at the GIA in Dubai, (which I loved). I made a friend with a diamond lover, so together we decided to go and have a look around the Dubai Jewellery Fair, oh what fun!

I wish I had taken some spare cash because the jewellery on offer was beautiful. There was a lot of designers from Italy (I really loved their pieces and designs), as well as China and of course India - I will always be in love with Indian jewellery design, always!

I was very jealous of the reps for the companies and hope one day I have a job working with gemstone jewellery.

Here are some snaps from my very lovely afternoon checking out the fabulous designs and wonderful gemstones...

 Exciting!

Some of the pieces from an Indian designer.

Love, love, love, I am in heaven at this point!

These gorgeous rings were by an Italian designer, she had amazing pieces. I love the colours.

Ah, now this was a naturally coloured pink diamond, cushion cut, surrounded by white diamons - AMAZING!!! A tad out of my price rang though, so I had to let it go, shame.

Loose gems, I want them all!!!

Happy times xxxx

Dubai Markets

One of the best things about winter in Dubai is that the street markets re-open. I love walking down JBR and browsing at all the gorgeous jewellery stalls.

Look what little gems I found today.

JBR Markets

These are beaded bracelets with charms on them, not real gemstones but still pretty.

Love these Turkish designed earrings, so fun and individual.

The stall below is gorgeous, they sell amazing Afghanistani jewellery and textiles - love the colours and the design!

Look at these rings.....

and these very pretty pendants with their intricate designs and gemstones.

More fabulous pendants.. I always love turquoise!

Tourmaline necklaces.

Fabulous earrings, amazing designs.

Hope you enjoyed having a look around as much as I did!
