All the Belles of the Gem Ball
I just love how the exquisite colours of gem stones compliment each other. My favourites are pinks, greens and blues, for example rubies, pink spinel or pink tourmalines with chrysoprase or with turquoise. Citrine and yellow sapphire looks so pretty with white pearls.... the beautiful possibilities are endless.
Whenever I travel I love buying beads and gem stones but never knew what to do with them, I ended up with quite the collection, so decided to learn to string them all together. This is my little foray into beading, hope you like them! xxx

All About The Rings
London Fashion Week is on at the moment, bringing out all the fashion darlings in their finest threads but it would seem they are also paying a lot of attention to their fingers too. I love these pictures of Pixie Geldof and Kate Moss wearing an array of beautiful, seemingly vintage rings......
Check out the ring on Pixie's left ring finger, love this!
Kate is of course always effortlessly stylish and cool and it doesn't stop at her clothes.

Gemfields - The Miners by Boo George
When you look at sumptuous gems glinting on your finger, sparkling around your neck or elegantly adorning your ears you are struck by their beauty and majesty, very rarely do you think of the people who worked so hard to bring those gems safely to you. Gemfields have taken the time to pay homage to these brave and hardworking people with a collection of photographs, please see the link below:
Wonderful!
Out of Africa..... Penny Winter
So many of the beautiful gems we wear are originally from the great continent of Africa. Africa is such a special and magical place that once you have been it somehow seems to put a spell on you, much like gem stones.
Penny Winter is a designer in Africa who uses Africa's natural materials to produce individual and exotic pieces that remind me of Africa's landscape and colours. See below:

Armenta - Art Through Jewellery
My huge excuse for buying fashion magazines (a small obsession), is that I am researching for my blog and gaining inspiration from the designers and artists that are interviewed. Well today I was rewarded for my long hours sifting through the pages of these glossy publications, as I discovered Armenta, thanks to Harpers Bazaar.
What a delight to discover this exotic and romantic brand. I look at the jewellery pieces and imagine them on the wrists, fingers and decolletage of courtesans, princesses, explorers, historical gypsies along with modern day darlings of the fashion world and the arts. The use of colour and intricate design are wonderful and exciting, the beautiful pieces look as though they hold mystical, magical powers.

Gypset Jewellery
Gypset, is the ethos of the whimsical hippy meets the sophistication of the jet set. When I discovered Julia Chaplin's exquisite and detailed books about the style and travel of the Gypset, I instantly fell in love. I suddenly realised a lifestyle I wanted to follow and a movement I desired to be a part of.
Their style, a dizzy mixture of a gypsy, hippy and European fashion darling appeals to me and gets the style juices flowing. I have always loved gypsy, Indian inspired and shell jewellery, which equals Gypset jewellery. Gems, shells, beads, silk and so much more xxxx
No rules, sexy, colourful, playful, exotic!

Ethnic, tribal, seductive

Mix n' Match with Sammi-Jo
She is as enthusiastic as she is colorful and daring, thank goodness this lady is a designer, as she is sure to create some exciting pieces for us in the future! Her choice of gems are an insight into her inspirations and diverse style:
Why stick with one style, when you can have many!
Love how she pulls it off x
Sidney's Chic and Pretty Designs
One of the joys of studying gemology (apart from looking at amazing gems all day), is all the fascinating people you meet from all over the world. Our class has had a few designers in it, one of whom has designed some beautiful and delicate pieces that sparkle out at you. Sidney is petite and oh so stylish. She is from Belgium and has the most beautiful French accent... Sidney always looks chic but with a slight edge. I think her designs suit her perfectly and reflect her personality - pretty, different, chic and delightful...
How pretty are these gold and diamond pieces?! And so easy to wear. The design did have a chain linking the bracelet and ring but is currently having some time off and will be joining up again soon ; )
And the very pretty and classic pendant.

Pretty fingers x

Live a Diamond (and gem) Life!
An article in the Sunday Times Style magazine grabbed my attention today. It was explaining how women are making the most of their jewels and precious gems by actually wearing them and not hiding them away in boxes - Hurrah! So pleased to read this, as I love to see gems and jewellery and also like to think I am a girl who already lives by this philosophy. See the article below:

Talitha Getty and Some Fabulous Rings
I love to browse google images and look for style tips from certain stars, past and present. This evening I discovered this picture of Talitha Getty, the pioneer of 'Boho Chic'. I adore the rings that are decorating her hand, so funny to think that this is a style that has recently resurfaced as a new and hip way to wear rings:

Tiffany & Co. The Jazz Age Collection
Everyone is talking about the Great Gatsby at the moment. That flighty, hedonistic era is back in full swing, grabbing our attention and injecting some exciting brightness and glamour into our lives.
What jewellery lover could ignore the range by Tiffany & Co. Inspired by the jewellery in the film. If you haven't already seen it, you can devour it here: http://www.tiffany.co.uk/Shopping/CategoryBrowse.aspx?langprefforca=-1&cid=2605758&mcat=148206#p+3-n+12-cg+viewPaged-c+2605758-s+5-r+-t+-ri+-ni+1-x+-pu+-f+

Pretty and Unique, Just Like the Owner!
My gorgeous friend Becky got hitched at the weekend to a dashing and very charming man. The wedding, was traditional with a hint of quirky and a dash of colour - just like the couple themselves, of course.
When this charming young man proposed to a pretty and very fabulous bright young thing, he did so with the perfect ring, which is antique gold set with coral and diamonds. Such a unique and pretty ring needed a perfectly unique and pretty wedding band, the bride opted for a scintillating peridot and diamond band....... have a look below:

Regal Evening At The Met Ball
Harper's Bazaar Arabia commented today on the fashionistas choosing crowns for the Met Ball last night, here are my favourites!
SJP, as daring as ever, so ornate and elegant.
I like this, although it is certainly more styled and seems less individual... but I love the crown, earring ensemble xx

Dolce&Gabanna opulence and chic - fabulous!
