Jewellery News
While most people devour the weekend newspapers, I love the accompanying magazines. Today's Telegraph magazine was giving the latest in the jewellery news....
I love this quirky and romantic idea of having famous quotes engraved on a ring.
The Victorians were famous for their use of gems to express romantic and loving messages through jewellery, I am so pleased to see it being done again. The ring below uses gems to spell out Beloved - how wonderful and touching... I want one x xxx

Dazzling Array of Jewellery on Jessica Michibata
Beautiful, elegant and with her own style, Jessica Michibata is a girl whose style I love. These pictures show her gorgeous and individual style is translated in her jewellery style too.
If Women are Jade, Men are Diamonds x
The exotic gem stone Jade, is the toughest of all gem stones. It is easy to carve into any desired shape but is so tough it will very rarely break, it's colours are varied and delightful with imperial green being the most sought after.
Diamonds are the hardest mineral, almost impossible to cut (only another diamond can do so) but they are breakable. Diamonds are remarkable and hold such beauty.
I always think of women as being like Jade and men being like diamonds, the two compliment each other so well and together give enduring hardness and toughness....the perfect combination xx
These beautifully carved jade earrings were bought in Singapore as a romantic gesture between a man and a woman. I love the diamond design at the top of the earrings, to me they seem 1920's or 1930's inspired. How joyful it must be to wear these x
All the Belles of the Gem Ball
I just love how the exquisite colours of gem stones compliment each other. My favourites are pinks, greens and blues, for example rubies, pink spinel or pink tourmalines with chrysoprase or with turquoise. Citrine and yellow sapphire looks so pretty with white pearls.... the beautiful possibilities are endless.
Whenever I travel I love buying beads and gem stones but never knew what to do with them, I ended up with quite the collection, so decided to learn to string them all together. This is my little foray into beading, hope you like them! xxx

All About The Rings
London Fashion Week is on at the moment, bringing out all the fashion darlings in their finest threads but it would seem they are also paying a lot of attention to their fingers too. I love these pictures of Pixie Geldof and Kate Moss wearing an array of beautiful, seemingly vintage rings......
Check out the ring on Pixie's left ring finger, love this!
Kate is of course always effortlessly stylish and cool and it doesn't stop at her clothes.

Gemfields - The Miners by Boo George
When you look at sumptuous gems glinting on your finger, sparkling around your neck or elegantly adorning your ears you are struck by their beauty and majesty, very rarely do you think of the people who worked so hard to bring those gems safely to you. Gemfields have taken the time to pay homage to these brave and hardworking people with a collection of photographs, please see the link below:
Wonderful!
Out of Africa..... Penny Winter
So many of the beautiful gems we wear are originally from the great continent of Africa. Africa is such a special and magical place that once you have been it somehow seems to put a spell on you, much like gem stones.
Penny Winter is a designer in Africa who uses Africa's natural materials to produce individual and exotic pieces that remind me of Africa's landscape and colours. See below:

Armenta - Art Through Jewellery
My huge excuse for buying fashion magazines (a small obsession), is that I am researching for my blog and gaining inspiration from the designers and artists that are interviewed. Well today I was rewarded for my long hours sifting through the pages of these glossy publications, as I discovered Armenta, thanks to Harpers Bazaar.
What a delight to discover this exotic and romantic brand. I look at the jewellery pieces and imagine them on the wrists, fingers and decolletage of courtesans, princesses, explorers, historical gypsies along with modern day darlings of the fashion world and the arts. The use of colour and intricate design are wonderful and exciting, the beautiful pieces look as though they hold mystical, magical powers.

Gypset Jewellery
Gypset, is the ethos of the whimsical hippy meets the sophistication of the jet set. When I discovered Julia Chaplin's exquisite and detailed books about the style and travel of the Gypset, I instantly fell in love. I suddenly realised a lifestyle I wanted to follow and a movement I desired to be a part of.
Their style, a dizzy mixture of a gypsy, hippy and European fashion darling appeals to me and gets the style juices flowing. I have always loved gypsy, Indian inspired and shell jewellery, which equals Gypset jewellery. Gems, shells, beads, silk and so much more xxxx
