Jewellery Theatre - Loving the Theatrics

Russians seem to have an eye and love of opulence and beauty, so there is no surprise that the magical and wonderful Jewellery Theatre is a Russian jewellery house. A friend of mine suggested I take a look at their web site and what a treat it was to look through their designs!

I would love to be able to show you my favourite designs of theirs but I'm not able to upload their images, so you must go and have a look at the absolute theatre of jewellery that is Jewellery Theatre.

I love the Byzantium collection http://www.jt.ru/#/c?c=byzantium  and Eden collection http://www.jt.ru/#/c?c=eden the most! I also LOVE that they have a video on how they make their pieces http://www.jt.ru/#/production_en

I have attached some Jewellery Theatre photos that I found on a search engine, these are however a small sneak preview of all tehir other glamorous and beautiful designs!

This ring leaves me breathless.

Don't you agree that the imagination and use of gemstones combined is just so wonderful, it is like watching a Russian ballet. It is wonderful to see such beautiful and exciting designs that take you on a journey of fantasy.

New Love - Opium

I met with my lovely friend Antonia for lunch today, who also shares my absolute love of gemstones and jewellery. I have blogged about her jewellery designs before. Well today, she had on the most beautiful pair of blue drop earrings which I instantly asked her about. Antonia informed me that they were from a favourite shop of hers on the Kings Road in London - Opium.

So back at my desk I decided that I needed to google Opium and find out more about it. Antonia having the gorgeous taste that she does was not wrong. I adore the concept of this shop and love the pieces its owner brings back to London from India, furniture and kaftans, textiles and of course beautiful jewellery. You must have a look at her website: http://www.opiumshop.co.uk/jewellery-8-c.asp

Reading more about the shops owner, Tracy Kitching, I discovered that she designs the jewellery herself - what wonderful designs she has and oh how I would love to live her life. This is her blurb on her jewellery designs:

"India, and particularly Jaipur, is famous for its wealth of semi-precious stones and jewellery ateliers. Inspired by these fabulous jewels and the beautiful antique tribal and Mughal pieces sourced on her travels, Tracy began designing a small collection for the shop. This was an immediate success and over the past 10 years, her unique jewellery designs have become a signature of Opium and are much in demand. The emphasis is on delicately cut stones with fabulous clarity and colour at affordable prices.  As part of her collection, she chooses semi-precious stones to mirror precious stones...kyanite for a blue sapphire look, green onyx for emerald and treated spinel to give the blue-black lustre of black diamonds. Many of her necklace and bracelet designs are created using healing stones and antique Hindu & Buddha pendants to bring protection and good fortune to the wearer, with no two pieces the same. Tracy particularly favours tourmalines, rubies, moonstone, laboradite, kyanite, blue opal and silver diamonds and is constantly adding new stones and varying subtleties of colour to her range. Tracy designs a range in both 18 carat gold and in 18 carat micron plated gold."
This is what I would love to do one day. Here are some of her beautiful pieces of jewellery.

Beautiful colours and designs, I will certainly be visiting Opium when I'm back in London.

Dreamy

Exquisite!

So beautiful and simple, look how these beautiful little green onyx briolette's make a beautiful piece of jewellery, stunning.

I love this and am sure I would never take it off.

So pretty and so special.

Ripe Market - Two in the Bush

The Ripe Market is one of Dubai's many pleasures on a Saturday, I love visiting and seeing the organic food stalls and clothes stalls but my favorite thing are the jewellery stalls. Dubai is abundant with all kinds of wonderful jewellery, as I have mentioned quite a bit.

This week I went and visited, as my friend Becky had told me about a fascinating man she had met the week before. Mark runs a jewellery company called Two in the Bush with his wife, they are from Kenya and source only African stones and then bring them to Dubai to sell. Previously Mark ran a safari tour business but transitioned into the gemstone business quite by accident. I loved talking to him because he is so knowledgeable and has such a passion for the gems. I especially love his Tanzanites!

If you want to buy in Dubai I think he is the man to see.

This is the chap himself, with his wife. Such an interesting life that they live!

A selection of their gems, so beautiful!

This is a real uncut ruby, how stunning, loving that colour xx

The Tanzanites, I loved the one on the far right!

More of their designs.

Some of their stones - they look like sweets x

Treasure Hunting in Sharjah Blue Souk

I have lived in the UAE for the last four years and have hunted out all the fabulous souks and markets that I can find, however, I had not yet been to the famous Blue Souk in Sharjah.

My very good friend, who has lived here for almost 17 years, kept telling me off for visiting the UAE's many souks but not visiting the Blue Souk, so yesterday she and her husband drove me there in search of wonderful hidden gems.

I was not disappointed, the beautiful Iranian inspired souk with its little passageways and shops over bridges was a treasure chest of amazing one off little bejeweled pill boxes, bangles, gold shops with my favorite Indian designs and treasures from Afghanistan, Oman and Northern India. It was my heaven and I could have spent hours going through each shop and finding the perfect little bargains.

Here are some of my pictures and they are just a few of them....

This was one of the many gold shops in the main park of the souk. The Indian jewellery is exquisite and amazes me every time.

I fell in love with this gold and turquoise cuff bangle!

These Afghan cuffs were in a little shop over one of the bridges and were the main treasure in an otherwise unexciting shop. They aren't real silver but the stones are lapis lazuli, turquoise and garnet. They are beautiful and the design on the metal is just so gorgeous!

I found these pretty little north Indian pill boxes in a funny little shop stuffed with little treasures!

This box of goodies was in another little side shop, which had silver cutlery and all sorts of odds and ends that I would love to deck my home out in.

This is a cushion cover with real gold and gem stones embroidered in, how stunning!

These rings were very pretty and cute x

Imagine row after row of shop windows just like this but each piece is individual and has its very own wonderfully beautiful design.

I would absolutely LOVE one of these engraved cuffs - oh I am in love xx

Not sure how real the turquoise was in this belt but thought it would look good with jeans in the UK.

More beads and precious little rocks hidden away in a funny little shop.

Omani daggers, once lovingly kept in their beautiful cases.

Malachite and lapis lazuli animal figures, these remind me of ones I saw in Africa - very sweet!

Bangles, bangles and more bangles - oh how I love gold bangles!

Beautiful beaded belts from Afghanistan and north India.

Look at the gold bracelet with the cluster of coral on it, I really loved this one. It seemed so European and out of place. I think it is so pretty and elegant.

Imagine wearing this on your wedding day! Look at the intricate design - wow!

Pretty gem watches, that's my kind of watch.

Which ring would you wear?

I would love one of these sets. I would feel so special in them.

Tatiana Santo Domingo - Bohemian Beauty

I love a mix of ethical clothing and jewellery, collected from my travels from around the world, mixed with high street brands and designer labels, no one does this better than Tatiana Santo Domingo.

Like her pal Margherita Missoni, she has her very own individual and bohemian style. I love that she seems to dress totally for herself and have her own idea of how things should go together. As well as her fashion being eclectic, exotic and bohemian, so is her jewellery - I love how she puts her jewellery together with her clothing.

This necklace is so pretty and demure but at the same time quite exotic, it is such a good colour choice with this dress and adds her own style to it!

Effortlessly chic in these long necklaces.

Love the statement earrings, so glamorous, exotic and beautiful x

Love, love, love this - I want one.... and somewhere to wear it.

Travel chic. I reckon these are some pieces from her clothing line Muzungu Sisters. Fabulous.

Margherita Missoni - All that Colour

Margherita Missoni is celebrity whose fashion I love to follow. She has this wonderful bohemian style all of her own, which is very feminine and involves lots of bright colours. Along with her stylish clothing, she also wears some fabulous jewellery!

What a wonderful mixture of beaded necklaces. They remind me of various ones I have collected from my own travels around the world. I love how she puts the beaded necklaces together with a silk pink dress/top.

This choker is gorgeous, it looks like resin with gold sculpted over the top of it? So sexy!

I can't get a close-up of the necklace she is wearing here but I can see enough to tell that I like it very much and think that it looks so pretty on her. I would love a necklace like this!

This is one of my favourite Margherita Missoni looks. The coral in her turban and then around her neck is so fun, exotic, sexy and cool. The colour is amazing and pulls her outfit together perfectly.

This photo is meant to be of Margherita's bag but I focused in on her ring!

Emma Chapman Jewels

I have fallen in love again, I mean absolutely head over heels!

Emma Chapman is a designer I love and admire, she lives the life I dream of and makes the jewellery I dream of wearing. Again, she shares my love of Indian jewellery design and like Kerry Rocks and Jade Jagger, knows how to accentuate the beauty of each gem and make its colour and beauty stand out even more.

Here are some of her pieces I wish I owned...

Aphrodite Green Amethyst- So different and pretty, the design and use of colour are wonderful.

Boleyn Ruby Pendant - The colour of these rubies is magnificent and the design is just so beautiful!

Jali Tree of Life Earrings - I love the intricate design in these and the colour of the stones.

Green Tourmaline Peacock Collection - Divine!

Tsarina Smokey Topaz Pendant - Amazing combination of colours and exquisite design.

Vishnu Blue Topaz Pendant - So pretty x
